Following a monochrome colourway, this black, white and anthracite edition of the Nike Air Vortex Shoes brings a classic old school design into modern day with a lightweight, sophisticated and textural finish. The low-top design offers a nonrestrictive fit alongside the traditional lace up fastening with flat laces that ensure the foot is held in place. The front of the toe has been built from black breathable mesh which is visible below the laces along the tongue. Black suede surrounds the front, tongue and lace border, further increasing durability whilst cut out sections adorn the front sides. Smooth textile side panels provide a base for elongated white leather Swoosh ticks which meet below a shaped heel tab, branded with bold ‘Nike Air’ text.
Like many recent re-releases from Nike, the Air Vortex were originally designed for different types of runners. The ‘80s origins of the design remain throughout this modern remake with an encapsulated Nike Air unit (which was a distinctive feature of the first release) to provide impact protection, a modified waffle outsole to amplify traction and durability, plus a full-length EVA midsole for cushioning.
